Desert Landscape
The Sesriem Canyon, nestled within the Namib Naukluft National Park in the Karas Region, is a remarkable desert landscape sculpted by the Tsachaub River over 2 million years ago. This awe-inspiring canyon, stretching approximately 3 kilometres and reaching depths of up to 30 metres, features pools at its base that are replenished by seasonal rains, holding water almost year-round. These near-permanent water pools provide a unique touch of life amidst the stark, arid surroundings, making Sesriem Canyon a captivating natural wonder.
Sunrise and Sunset
Visitors may not enter the park before sunrise and must leave before sunset. These restrictions ensure the safety of both visitors and the park's wildlife while preserving the serene beauty of the canyon during these magical hours.
Logistics
Located in the Karas Region, Sesriem Canyon is accessible via Hosea Kutako Airport in Windhoek, with Windhoek or Walvis Bay being the nearest towns, each approximately a 5-hour drive away. Both towns offer essential services such as private hospitals and suppliers. The canyon is part of the Namib Naukluft National Park, managed by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry & Tourism. Filming at this site requires a location permission application from the Ministry, with a permit processing time of at least two weeks.

Restrictions
